Established to advocate for the rights and interests of its members, RNUNL works to ensure safe working conditions, fair compensation, and high standards of patient care.
RNUNL plays a pivotal role in negotiating collective agreements with employers on behalf of its members, addressing issues related to wages, benefits, workload, and workplace safety. Job Description:
As the Director of Corporate Services, you will be responsible for leading and managing our organization’s corporate functions to ensure efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment with our goals and objectives. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Human Resources Management:
- Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and programs to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and training initiatives.
- Assist the RNUNL Executive in collective bargaining of the staff collective agreement.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that promotes employee engagement and satisfaction.
Financial Management:
- Manage the organization’s financial operations, including budgeting, payroll, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and monitor financial controls, processes, and systems to safeguard assets and optimize resource utilization.
- Work closely with senior management to develop financial strategies and support decision-making.
- Accountable for the administration and management of external contracts with vendors.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, provincial and federal regulations, and internal policies.
- Oversee the accounting function ensuring outstanding invoices are resolved.
- Accountable for the maintenance and upkeep of RNUNL property.
Records Management:
- Establish and maintain efficient records management systems and procedures to ensure accurate documentation, storage, and retrieval of information.
- Oversee the organization’s records retention policies and procedures in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Implement best practices for information governance and data security.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on records management practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, SHRM-CP, CHRP, PCP, Q.MED, SHRM-CP) preferred.
- Proven experience 10 years in a leadership role overseeing human resources, financial management, and/or records management functions.
- Experience working within a unionized environment would be considered an asset.
- Experience with Payroll will be considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, financial principles, and records management best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically, analyze complex issues, and make sound decisions.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., HRIS, document management software).
- Must be proficient in Office365.
