Registered Nurses’ Union Newfoundland & Labrador conclude provincial board elections

St. John’s, NL – Last evening the Registered Nurses’ Union Newfoundland & Labrador (RNU) concluded its election of provincial board of directors.

RNU members chose from a list of candidates nominated from each of the 9 regions in our province. The following individuals were either elected or acclaimed.

Secretary-Treasurer Tony Moores (acclaimed)
Region 1 Representative Nicole Boutilier (acclaimed)
Region 2 Representative Raelynn Strangemore (elected)
Region 3 Representative Maria Young (elected)
Region 4 Representative Christa Philpott (acclaimed)
Region 5 Representative Jonathan Mayo (elected)
Region 6 Representative Jennifer Hiscock (elected)
Region 7 Representative Mark Aylward (acclaimed)
Region 8 Representative Nicole Parsons (acclaimed)
Region 9 Representatives (3) Margot Antle (acclaimed)
Jodi Nolan (acclaimed)
Taylor Smith (acclaimed)

These RNs and NPs will form the next Board of Directors for the Union and will serve a term of three years beginning January 1, 2024 until December 31, 2026. They will be sworn in at an upcoming ceremony in December of this year.

We thank everyone who put their name forward in this election. We also thank all members who exercised their democratic right to cast a vote for their preferred candidate.
