The Registered Nurses’ Union Newfoundland & Labrador (RNUNL) is the official trade union for registered nurses and nurse practitioners in Newfoundland and Labrador. We represent over 5,800 members in forming a strong, unified voice for nurses working in Newfoundland and Labrador.

A Belief In & History of Collaboration

RNUNL works in collaboration with nursing, community and labour organizations provincially and across Canada. RNUNL is a member of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) and is affiliated with the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC).

Yvette Coffey has been a Registered Nurse since graduating from the General Hospital School of Nursing in 1990.

History

Quality Care for Over 50 Years

Since 1974, RNUNL has been committed to improving the working conditions and quality of life for nurses in Newfoundland and Labrador. Before 1974, the terms and conditions of employment for registered nurses were considered a private matter between the employer and the employee, and were shaped by the prevailing economic and political conditions of the time.
